i have been using inspirations from molostore.com - based in Vancouver, Canada which is a collaborative design & production studio dedicated to the research of materials and the exploration of space making.
they use the idea of sustainability and flat-packed and using objects and installations over and over. i feel their exhibition installations are so minimal they do not overpower the garments or work that is being shown around them.
molostore design walls, lights and seating for exhibitions that are 100% recyclable. the walls and blocks are made from either unbleached paper or thin textile. they are tear-proof, water resistant and fire retardant.
the concertina effect of the walls/lights/seating means that they can be transported with very low carbon footprint. they also look completely beautiful and are so unique.
the cloud lighting suspends from the ceiling of the exhibition in a fanned out effect, it can be dimmed or lit brightly to enhance the mood of the work being shown.
the felt seatpads are for use on the fanned out seats or on their own, they are simple and innovative and give a real sense of minimal comfort to the exhibition or room.
the hobo lantern or bag is attached by a magnetic cork peg that can hold the weight of a light coat or bag, perfect for displaying garments. they can be lit with an energy efficient LED lightbulb to create a multifunctional bag/lantern made from 100% felted wool which is also sustainable.
i really want to incorporate these into my stand design for the Trend Show.
